JNUS is an independent, non-profit and non-political
women-led Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The
organization designs, develops and delivers programmes for the promotion of
Gender Equality and Women Empowerment, Social Cohesion, and initiates measures
which are vital for the prevention of gender-based violence. JNUS offers
network, resources and platforms for the community actors, government and
non-government stakeholders to organize regular consultations, dialogues,
seminars and workshops, conducts researches and surveys, and identifies issues
requiring suitable intervention for ensuring the human rights and justice of
the vulnerable women. JNUS does have a strong advocacy network, collaboration
with the community actors, enjoys high national and local reputation, and
regularly undertakes initiatives along with other development partners. JNUS is registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau (Registration number: 2453), the Department of Women's Affairs (Registration number: MBO/Cox-33/10), and the Department of Youth Development (Registration number: JUO/Cox/Listing-171).
