
The Women's Assembly 2022 was organized by Jago Nari Unnayon Sangstha (JNUS) at their head office in Ramu on Monday, November 28th, as part of the 16-days of activism against gender-based violence. Ms. Sheuly Sharma, the Executive Director of JNUS, presided over the gathering, with special guests including the Principal of Ramu Government College, the Youth Development Officer of Ramu Upazila, the Sub Inspector of Ramu Police Station, former MUP Rasheda Khanam, and women and religious leaders Ankhi and Maulana Md. Eliash.
During the assembly, the speakers emphasized that the progress of women can only be accelerated if they see themselves as human beings, not just as women. They also highlighted the importance of giving women proper opportunities, as they have the potential to achieve great success in all fields. Women leaders from various sectors in Cox's Bazar-Ramu also attended the assembly and participated in a cultural program. JNUS officials announced that they will be holding various programs from November 25th to December 10th, 2022 to prevent violence against women.
