JNUS, in partnership with the ActionAid Bangladesh, funded by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) and UKAID, had implemented this project at Rohingya Camp -11, camp- 12, camp-26, camp-27, and Hnila Union of Teknaf and Palongkhali Union of Ukhiya in 2020. The objectives of this six month’s project were; to improve knowledge and understanding about personal protection and good hygiene behaviors; increase access to hand washing facilities and masks; and enhanced access to mental health and counselling centers; and reduce insecurity and psychological trauma caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. JNUS successfully implemented this project with some key activities which included establishing sixty hand washing facilities; distribution of 12000 masks and mental health and counselling services to reduce trauma associated with this pandemic. In addition to this, local journalists and youth Ambassadors of JNUS were trained to promote COVID-19 prevention initiatives through community journalism and using social media outlets.
