JNUS, as a Sub-Recipient (SR) of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), under the consortium of the Principal Recipient (PR) Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) , had implemented a one and half year project (2015-2016) entitled, “Community Engagement in Countering Violent Extremism in Cox’s Bazar (CEVEC)” at all Unions of Ramu upazila. The objective of the project was to increase community engagement and build resilience to prevent violent extremism. The initiatives designed through this project would strengthen the capacity of the social groups that included the Youth, the women and the undocumented Rohingyas and institutions, community based Civil Society Organizations, local government institutions, educational and religious institutions for preventing the appeal of violent extremism and the signs and signals of radicalization at the community level. It was one of the comprehensive efforts that this project had adopted to fight radicalization and extremism at the local level.
