Gender Equity and Women Empowerment:

Tailoring and Embroidery Centre
The prime focus of JNUS is to promote gender equity and women empowerment through its activities. Most of the programmes of this organisation are being planned, implemented and managed by the women beneficiaries. JNUS identifies priorities of women in its planning approach by promoting active participation of them in the implementation process. It aims to increase the employment and income generating options for low income women imparting training through its two handicrafts and cottage industries. It is now implementing a local programme entitled 'Awareness and Capacity Building Training Programme for Women' as part of its community development programme. The volunteers of JNUS are conducting activities in three upazillas of Cox's Bazar under this programme.
